Clerics Three

Merriment and secrecy dance in Azure's eyes as she grins. She appears to think a moment, adding a pregnant pause, gazing at her mandolin. She strikes a note. Shrugging she returns the mandolin to it's place over her shoulder and begins to sing. She begins to clap a lively rhythm with her hands while her voice sounds clearly and fills the room with rather amused tones.

Azure sings:

Gather round and listen to a story that is older than old.
For in awe I did sit as I was told,
About three Clerics who entered the crypt so cold,
Their boredom to stifle with a bit of gold.

T'was Kali, then but a sweet sweet lass.
To her we all should raise our glass,
For if her folly had been meant to last,
All the miners would still be locked up fast.

You see our young Kali did fall,
With a blink, blink and a siren call.
A pooka's bite did not stall,
And our Clerics, three, beamed and entered the long long hall.

Now we see our wonderful grump, Tvarr,
Well loved by this bard, if not by all.
And dear dear Omnirus who would never fail,
To help a fellow who's decay is at stake.
Valiant, they were, all three, and none a fake.

Azure looks up with a rather absent-minded expression on her face, "There was a third and I apologize for my very poor memory as I can not recall that valiant's name."

Azure sings:

Well, our Clerics, three, did enlighten Kali's life.
Then grew puzzled as each drew their bushy brows.
For a puzzle floated before them now.
Hey nonny nonny solve it, they would, was their vow.

Now can you see, as I try to weave,
Tvarr pulling upon Omni's sleeve?
I bet he grumbled about Clerics three.
And Kali's laughter musta been heard at sea.

With a grumble and a heave and a sigh or two,
Our dear Clerics, three, did puzzle it through.
The floor dropped open and down the flue,
Went our three Clerics without a clue.

Soon they stood and blinked their eyes,
For there twenty miners did arise.
Mumbles, I am sure, were heard, all round,
But boredom sang a solemn dirge, without a frown.

Out they went, our clerics, three,
I wonder if anyone took time to find a deed.
Told the story and soon returned.
Souls of the miners were all, poste haste, freed.

Now my friends I think there is a greater need,
For me to do more than bend my knee,
To a dwarf who has always found,
Time, through grumbles, to keep me sound.

And legend they are and legend he is.
For Tvarr did join that august list.
But had he never grown so old,
This legend story should still be told.

Legends grow through the deed.
Not through the time nor through a seed.
Younglings here please take heed.
Grow to legend through the need.
And valor will always follow thee.

Azure smiles brightly as her voice trails off, then wraps her arms about Tvarr and hugs him tightly. "Thank you my grumbly old dwarf."

Lady Azure Ru'Thorn
Bardess of Elanthia

As sung upon the night of Entrei's Legend Party, for Tvarr, who also had just attained that status.
